So Arctic Monkeys’ I Bet You Look Good On The Dancefloor is 10 years old

Ten years ago today, on 23 October 2005, the Arctic Monkey’s debut single I Bet You Look Good On The Dancefloor went straight in at number one.

And now we’re all wondering where our 20s went, right? It’s not just me?

An explosive indie song wrapped up in the history of pop (‘Your name isn’t Rio, but I don’t care for sand and lighting’) it was less than three minutes long and all about one boy who was sent into despair by that one girl who he can’t stop making eyes at.

Not that he wants to anyway.
